Oh I've been away for so long - I hadn't realised it's been 10 days since I last posted. All I can say is that the first week was spent ridiculously busy in preparation of much talked about wedding party - which was fab and I will post lots of pics and details when I get them off my Dad who was official photographer. But we had a lovely time and I was so pleased with how the place looked in the end (but boy was I sick of the sight of tissue paper!) It was lovely seeing so many people I hadn't seen in ages, and having a good old catch up. Oh and my dress looked great!
So if you can bear with me I'll post proper details later in the week. I've spent the past week enjoying having nothing weddingy to do and fighting a tummy bug (which I was half hoping was going to be very early morning sickness but no, it wasn't to be - and yes, we're back to slightly obsessing about all that stuff!)
I know I've only been away for a couple of weeks, but I feel really out of things - I've got so much lovely blog reading to catch up with - I'm missing out on what everyone's up to! I'm going to have a few lovely evenings spent nosing up on you all - can't wait!
Today was a nice day just chilling out and pottering. Cole and I did some painting - we bought a couple of white T-shirts and some printer transfer paper and he was going to do a T-shirt transfer but for some reason the new printer cartridge I bought didn't work and we couldn't get it to print out. Still, he did a great picture and I'm going to chase Tesco's tomorrow to see if I can change the printer cartridge. I love the fact that he wanted to put a slogan on his T shirt - he's done another one with 'school sucks' on it - Love that - totally 8 year old!
But the weather held off well enough for us to have a bit of a BBQ - but lets face it, there's something really British about BBQing in the rain anyway! and Cole and I made cookies which were yummy. Very sweet and sort of chewy too - the recipe's from here
I dread the day he doesn't want to make stuff with me anymore so for now I'm making the most of it. I'm sure that one day it won't be cool to make things with his mum. I'm encouraging his creative side as much as I can, while I can - but I sometimes wonder if it's as much for my benefit as his!
And in my absence I've been given an award - I feel hugely honored and more than a little undeserving. Thank you to the lovely Twiggypeasticks - you are such a darling and I've not idea why you are so nice to me sometimes!
So in my usual style, I'm nicking the rules from Twiggy and just repeating them here. I'm sure you all know enough random stuff about my now (sometimes it feels like that's all I write-it's not like there's any substance to my witterings!) but here goes:
1. Link to the person who “tagged” you. Check
2. Post the rules on your blog. Check
3. Write six random things about yourself. Check -See below
4. Tag six people at the end of your post. Ditto
5. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.First thing I'm going to do once I click 'save'
6. Let the tagger know your entry is up. as above
Six random things about me:
1. My favourite comfort food - you know, on those days when you can barely get out from under the duvet? Is Frey Bentos steak and ale pie and chips. I'm also partial to the odd pork pie - though it has to be a melton mowbry style one with brown sauce (yes, the answer to the question 'who ate all the pies?' is me!)
2. I'm a diet coke addict. No seriously, I can barely go a day without one. But I'm a lot better than I used to be- I could easily drink 4 or 5 cans of it a day. i go though phases when I cut it out altogether and when I do drink it I try to limit myself to 1 a day.
3. I used to be an actress- a proper one for a while (I mean, people actually paid me), mainly while I was at school. I realised quite young that I didn't have the resilience or tenacity to be successful at it (or even keep working.) I miss it sometimes, I miss being able to lose yourself in pretending to be someone else.
4. I only like plain flavoured crisps (ok, the occasional cheese and onion packet - but only when I've got a hangover!)
5. I don't drink coffee - for years I didn't drink tea. It's caused a lot of problems in offices I've worked because I don't think to offer to brew up enough because it doesn't occur to me that people will want one. Now I have to remind myself to offer - otherwise I'll go all day without thinking about it.
6. I think I could quite happily live abroad - at least for a few years. I definitely have the travel bug and find the idea of living and working in a new country really exciting.
Ok, so that's 6 very random things about me. Now I'm passing it on to 6 lovely ladies who's blogs I read and love:
As always with these things I now feel so mean for all of those that I haven't listed. Basically if you're listed in my Inspriation list - you're blogs I visit regularly and therefore think are fab. Oh and now I feel bad for the once who aren't in the inspirational list! I'm sorry, I'm rubbish at these things!
