Christmas and New Year - Oh how quickly it went. I had a whole 10 days off work - with no Uni work, no work work - in fact nothing to do but visit friends and hang out together. And it was lovely - and went by in a flash.
And now I'm back at work and I'm really enjoying my new job-but it's taking lots of energy and attention (as all new jobs do I suppose) - but it's all good. I like my team, we get on well and the work straddles that balance between playing to my strengths and experience and being suitably challenging and new. So far, so good!
I thought I'd get tons of stuff done over the break but to be honest I only really had one day to craft - we just seemed to be busy, busy. I did some more to the quilt I'm working on (Gosh you quilters are dedicated - the patience you must have!) and I finally made the apron I've been intending to do for about a year!
The pattern is totally made up - and the little pleats at the top were a beautiful accident - the thing just gaped without them in a most unattractive and un 1950's housewife sort of way. I love the colour combination too so overall I'm super pleased - but I might put a little loop on it to attach a towel so that I can wipe my hands - the apron is WAY too nice to do that!
The pleats look great, and as if planned from the start. Lovely fabric too.

So glad you had a wonderful holiday season!
It went by too quickly for me too.
The apron is so cute! I love the waist and the pleats. You did a great job.
I'm trying to get back into the quilt I started last year and never finished. A new year always brings me more energy and motivation.

That is gorgeous, and the two fabrics co-ordinate so beautifully together! Nice work!

Great new apron - I just bought some of that floral Amy Butler print the other day, and have the spotty one in my stash too - they look lovely together.

I think this is great. I've always wanted a apron like that. I think the prints are good together, and the pleats are just right.
