Blissed out

I may be in love with the postman

But he's a fickle lover.  I go for days, weeks even, when all he brings me are the cold, heartless bills and reminders.  And then, occasionally, he brings me a gorgeous stash like he did this morning:

first there was my second package from the wonderful Fat Quarter Shop.  It was my Alexander Henry and Moda half yards for bag making and general sewing happiness. 

It also contained these cute little Monkey charms. Cole took a fancy to them at first be decided pretty quickly that they were a bit babyish.  The Alexander Henry Cars were much more up his street.  I've promised to order some more of the same ilk - I'm really fancying the baseball range - so fabulously retro.

But then there was more.  As gorgeously wrapped package from TwiggyPeasticks lovely new Etsy Shop.  A gorgeous little cherry pincushion.  And (oh she knows me so well!) some gorgeous little buttons.

It set me up for another day of cocooning - I LOVE you all for changing my view on that front.  Here was I worrying I was becoming a hermit, when I just needed to shift my thinking on it - I'm just cocooning.  It frames it so much more positively.  A cocoon is restorative and regenerative (a hermit just avoids life).  I know which one I prefer.

I'm so touched - Elizabeth at Florence's Attic has nominated me for a 'You Make My Day' award - how cool!  I was tempted to go into a very bad Sally Field Oscars style speech but I'll resist the urge for now!  I've googled the rules and apparently I have to pass the award onto 10 other blogs that I love - only 10??? Buttonberry - it's hard to find groovy, gorgeous, low cost fabric in the UK - but Emma, Lisa and Jo at Buttonberry have a fab range and a lovely blog to boot.

Laura at Cupcakes for Clara has a lovely blog full of lots of gorgeous pictures of her soft creations. 

Florence at Flossie Teacakes knows how to give good blog!  I love her tales of crafting with her kids - lovely pictures too.

Tiff at Folded Gingham - I love following your decorating exploits and am totally envious of your house!

Marmadaisy at I Like To Make Stuff - another fan of the vintage button ring.  I love your style and your tutorials.

Marie At Knitted Gems - You were pretty much the first person to start leaving comments on my blog and let me know that I wasn't alone out here.  I love your blog and your knitting knows no bounds!

Jodie at Ric Rac - I love everything about your blog, but especially the 1 hour bag tutorial - total genius- thank you!

Christine at Sew Christine - Your tutorials rock!

Laurie at The Wooden Spool - I love checking into your blog, there's something about the all the pretty colors that just makes me go ooh!

Oh is that 10 already?  can I just give a special mention to Vicky at Knitting Dragonflies? I love reading your blog and you always leave such lovely comments on mine - it's a mutual blog love thing!

I'm really struggling to keep it to just 10 (ok,11!) as there are so many other lovely, inspirational blogs out there and so many supportive and talented people out there.  If I've stopped by and left a comment on your blog then you're automatically in my hall of fame and I thank you because you make my day!

Phew!  I enjoyed doing that - so nice to do the blog love thing!  Thank you again to Elizabeth for nominating me - it goes without saying that you get my special 'you make my day' nomination - you are my quilting inspiration (I will learn to do it very soon but you may find yourself bombarded with questions while I go through that difficult 'first quilt' stage!)  Thanks again.

What I'm loving

I came across some lovely designs and inspiration for refashioning ideas at Armour Sans Anguish.  All of their designs are made from vintage and thrifted clothes and I'm loving them.  I'm feeling very inspired to go cut up my wardrobe and create something new!

 

Many of the one's I've pictured here are sold out but there are lots of others still available and I'm sure they'll keep adding more.

I also love the fact that such beautiful clothing is all recycled.
