I'm putting lots of energy into finishing my cardigan - although it's probably the only time I've ever been grateful that the weather has turned cold again! I'm working on the collar at the moment and praying I've enough wool left - should be enough fingers crossed. Talking of fingers, I had my nails done on Friday and knitting with them was like having a set of sticks on the end of my fingers - talk about sufferring for beauty! It was my Mum's 60th birthday party on Saturday so I decided to get acrylic nails (nice and natural - I wasn't brave enough to have the patterns or jewels put on!) and I, fortunately, had them done pretty short otherwise I've NO idea how I would have knitted at all. But they look really nice - I just felt a bit like Edward Scissor hands for a while there until I got used to them! I kept snagging the yarn on the ends, stabbing my knitting needle under the nails (I'm not used to them going past the end of my fingers) - I got SO frustrated I nearly gave up - but I persevered and evenually got the hang of them. So now I reallly like them - and my hands look like they belong to a groomed, elegant woman - shame the rest of me gives it away!
